Competition No Gi Class
This class is based on preparing competitors for their next tournament. This class focuses on competition oriented drilling, situational sparring, and both submission only and point based sparring. This is a tough class meant to refine your competition game plan and build your conditioning and mental toughness.
Adult Gi Classes
Our gi classes begin with approximately 45-50 minutes of instruction, followed by a few rounds of situational drilling, and a half hour of live sparring. Each week we focus on a specific topic in order to provide in depth knowledge on a certain position. This is a blend of traditional self-defense and modern sport jiu jitsu.
Adult No Gi
Classes consist of 45-50 minutes of technique and instruction, following bit situational drilling, and a half hour of live sparring. Each week we focus on a specific topic. We generally have a special emphasis on wrestling and leg locks for competition purposes. We teach under a variety of rule sets, including EBI overtime, IBJJF, ADCC, and sub only.
Kids Classes
We offer gi classes for kids starting at age 5 up to age 14. They're oriented towards teaching kids self-defense and sport techniques while building their ability to focus. Every class is well-organized to help our kids develop their skills while having fun! These classes are a mix of the following:
- Warm ups: that will teach them how to move their body, such as front/back rolls, animal warmups, and break falls.
- Educational Games: that will teach them how to sprawl, playing judo tag, and a variety of games that teach them how to use their BJJ skills in a fun way while developing better spacial awareness and movement skills.
- Instructional Time: We break up our instruction time with educational drills to help keep kids' attention and build their ability to focus. We have an adaptable curriculum that we use to build and review skills while learning fun new things.
These classes are one hour long and are generally recommended for ages 5-14. Older kids often join the adult class with prior approval from the head instructor.
Mondays and Wednesdays the classes are in the gi, which is a kimono style uniform. Fridays are a mix of no gi bjj (no kimono, just comfortable athletic clothes) and muay thai.
